Types of surfaces
The synthetic turf is placed on any surface.- Earth, sand, wood: nail on the periphery every 20 to 40 cm.
- Concrete slab, stone, grass must be fixed at the ends with double-sided adhesive to ensure good stability over time.
With or without filling ?
- Filling without grass is more suitable for terracing, roofs, small gardens or interior decoration. The installation is faster and turf requires less maintenance.
- Artificial grass with sand filling takes into straight and vertical fibers. It withstands heavy use. As the filling has a draining effect, turf can withstand rain without damage.
The material of the frame and the fibers
The quality of the frame acts on the strength of the turf and therefore its life.- The frame latex: the most widespread.
- The polyurethane frame: high resistance to temperature variations and hmidité
- Polypropylene fiber more economic, with very good abrasion resistance but fragile crushing.
- The polyethylene fiber: soft, flexible, chemically inert, resistant to oxidants and cold resistant and crushing
The height of the fibers
Synthetic grass look like natural grass if its strand height varies between 20 and 42 mm.- 20 mm, the strands are short, the image of a freshly cut grass.
- At 42 mm, they will fold easily.
